News: Windows 10 has stopped driver updates via Device Manager

Windows 10 has removed one method of updating device drivers for those running the most recent May 2020 Update, namely via Device Manager. This move came quietly in the recent cumulative May 2020 windows update (build 19041.423), which arrived with some bug fixes. Before this update arrived one could update drivers by pending the Device Manager, select any particular driver you'd like to update and select the search for update option to automatically connect to windows servers and download the drivers. Instead of being able to update, Device manager would notify if there's any new update and redirect you to Windows Update or the manufacturers site. In other words, those who wish to update directly under Windows 10 will now have to head to Windows Update in Settings, which in all likelihood is where you head for updates anyway (or alternatively, visit the downloads page or appropriate section of the manufacturer’s site). Windows is doing this to reduce just how many possible w...
