ACER CHROMEBOOK SPIN 713: ACER'S NEW STYLISH HIGH-END CHROMEBOOKS

Acer will start selling a new Google Chromebook model with an advanced processor and hardware tough enough for military use, its latest in a series of products that have historically been strong-sellers. The Taiwanese company on Tuesday launched its Chromebook Spin 713 with an Intel processor that offers “advanced mobile performance” and up to 10 hours of battery life. The thin, convertible laptop that runs on Chrome like all PCs in its class will come with a 13.5-inch touch display and “military-grade durability” to resist shocks and dents, Acer said.

The new Chromebook Spin 713 would sell in Europe for $630 which is almost three time the pricing for the earlier models. Brady Wang, associate director at Counterpoint Research in Taiwan says these Chromebooks will appeal to “advanced students” and “entry-level” office workers who want stronger performance in a small, light PC. He also stated that the pricing would limit sales of these Chromebooks. Who knows? I would say it depends on the quality of marketing strategy employed by the Taiwanase Vendor.

Chromebooks have been a bright spot for Acer over the past decade and helped it out of a troubled times between 2011 and 2013.

The company joined Google in 2011 as one of the world’s first PC vendors to sell Chromebooks, which are normally aimed the public school market. In 2017, Acer had the world’s largest market share for Chromebooks, topping Fujitsu and Lenovo. Acer is ranked the fifth global shipments in the first quarter this year behind Lenovo, HP, Dell and Apple according to market research firm Gartner Data Show
