The Taiwan-based phone company HTC just launched two new mid-range smartphones today 16th of June, 2020 namely HTC U20 5G and HTC Desire 20 Pro in Taiwan. HTC used to be one of the biggest smartphone companies but stepped away from smartphone line because of the serious competition from phone makers like Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi and Huawei, now the company has decided to roll back into smartphone companies by introducing these to new mid-range smartphones; HTC U20 5G and HTC DESIRE 20 PRO.
The HTC DESIRE 20 PRO and HTC U20 5G both come with a Quad-camera setup at the back, a punch hole front camera, a rear mounted fingerprint scanner and a hole-punch display specifications.

HTC U20 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC chipset accompanied by 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The mid-range phone features a 6.8 inch Full HD+ (1080x2400p) hole punch display and runs on Android 10.
The HTC U20 5G mounts on its rear a Quad-camera setup which include 48MP Main Camera, 8MP Ultra-wide angle camera, and two 2MP Cameras as Macro and Portrait Cameras.
The Specifications on the HTC U20 is backed up by a 5000mAh battery plus a Quick Charge 4.0 which supports up to 18w fast charging. Connectivity options on this device includes USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A GPS, NFC, WiFi 802.11 ac and others. The available sensors on the device includes Ambient Light Sensor, Dynamic Gravity Sensor,Compass, Gyroscope, Rear mounted fingerprint sensor, Proximity sensor. The new HTC Desire 20 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC chipset accompanied with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
It runs on Android 10 Operating system and features a 6.5 inch Full HD+ (1080pX2340p) punch hole display.
The HTC DESIRE 20 PRO camera is identical to the HTC U20 5G Quad Camera setup and it's punch hole 25MP selfie camera.
The device is backed by a similar 5000mAh battery with a Quick Charge 3.0 unlike the Q. C 4.0 available on the U20 module. Connectivity options available on this device includes USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm earphone jack, NFC, WiFi 801.11 ac, GPS, A GPS and more. Sensors available includes Ambient Light Sensor, Compass, Dynamic Gravity Sensor, Rear mounted fingerprint scanner, Gyroscope and more. It is available in Smokey Black and Pretty Blue colors and weighs 201grams.
The prices are not out here but we'd be paying close attention to HTC's website for more updates. The devices have really nice specifications,what'd be the deciding factor would be the price range because the mid-range smartphone market is a saturated market. HTC has to make these devices worth buying for them to be able to compete with the likes of Xiaomi, Huawei, even OnePlus and Oppo.
