TECNO CAMON 12: THE LONG TERM REVIEW

After using the Tecno Camon 12 over a period of time, I must  say it served me well and that’s the reason I’m doing a review on this device. The Tecno Camon 12 was released last year alongside the Tecno Camon 12 Air with the dot screen and the Camon 12 pro with the optical finger print. The main feature of the Camon 12 is the camera and I must say took some impressive shots while I'll show later on. Without Foda Adu here's my review.

PERFORMANCE

The Techno Camon 12 is equipped with a 4gb RAM and runs on a MediaTek MT6762 Helio P22 Octacore 2.0 Cortex A53 meaning it can handle a lot of rough usage and gaming to an extent. I played the popular PUBG and CODM games on it and though it wasn’t perfect, it performed well. Based on it’s gaming abilities, I’d rate it at a 7/10 simply because I couldn’t get a high-quality version of the games. Above all, the Camon 12 device performed fairly well.

CAMERA

The triple camera setup which is made up of a 16MP main Camera + 8MP Ulltrawide camera + 2MP Macro Camera (depth camera) which does a decent job in capturing pictures. I took some pictures using the various modes available and I must say, the pictures come out pretty clear and stylish too. I’d rate the overall camera performance a 7/10

CONNECTIVITY

The phone has dual sim slots with 4G LTE available on the main data sim. The 4G LTE speed depends on the network providers but I was able to download at 32mb/s at night. WiFi and Bluetooth worked fine as I had a pretty seamless wireless connection to WiFi and Bluetooth devices. Based on connectivity, I’d rate the Camon 12 device at 7 of 10.

BATTERY PERFORMANCE

Camon 12 comes with a 4500MAh battery which does a great job keeping me online all day with a full charge. A full battery would take a whole day with my hotspot on almost all day and playing central battery conserving games like PUBG and CODM. Based on the battery performance, I’d rate the Techno Camon 12 at 8/10

AUDIO AND DISPLAY

The Camon 12 comes with a 720 x 1600p display which does good enough watching HD movies and playing games that require an average graphic quality. The speaker is pretty loud compared to some other phones. Audio and visual quality should be a 6/10

In all, this phone does pretty good handling day to day activity. The camera and it's battery is the selling point and to be honest it does a pretty good job. The different variations of the device is available on Jumia and Slot
